CCNA Voice

Aim of CCNA voice is to design, implement and manage a voice network of around 200 users. CCNA voice address the gap between CCNA and CCVP.

What CCNA Voice does is bridge the gap for the network and voice people; for the network people it gives them enough telephony fundamentals to go so that they know what people are talking about, how to interface with PSTN, what kind of connection PBX handle and how they communicate. To fill those gaps we dive enough into the VoIP technology so that we are able to setup small/medium business solutions using Call Manager Express which is now known as Cisco Unified Communication Manager Express.

When we get into voice world, we have all new equipments, all new modules, all expensive stuff. The ideal lab requirement for the CCNA voice is mentioned above. Cisco 2801 is one of the cheapest all in one router that can do almost everything that is needed for CCNA Voice labs. It should be equipped with Cisco Unity Express AIM module which is a flash chip version of Unity Express (it’s a voice mail system). What else we need is two or more Cisco IP Phones.
